THE STORY BEHIND THIS DESIGN:  ISSUE #17 of “RESPECTIBILI-TEES”, a comic cover collection inspired by the work of Pop Art legend Roy Lichtenstein. This piece was directly inspired by the great city of Detroit! Detroit Rock City is a song by the rock group KISS, and although the song only briefly references Detroit, the title is indicative of the theme of Detroit.  Detroit is bedrock to some of the world’s most important achievements including manufacturing innovation, music and a vibe that serves as a heartbeat of life in America.  If you want to know the state of the world…look to Detroit!
